We are overjoyed to hear that Seraina Kobler has just been nominated for the ›Ingeborg Bachmann Prize‹. Her book Valley of Swallows, which is just out, was recommended by ›New Books in German‹ and has received lavish praise by the press.
She wasn't the only one: Esther Schüttpelz' Green Wave received glowing reviews, too. Shelly Kupferberg's Hours Like Days and Daniel Fassbender's Heaven's Gate were also very warmly received.
Bernhard Schlink's books are doing very well, internationally: We have just sold French and Spanish rights of Justice to Gallimard and Anagrama. And we cheered every raving French review for The Late Life.
Lastly, Takis Würger's For Polina is travelling on into the world.
Seraina Kobler nominated for ›Ingeborg Bachmann Prize‹
Seraina Kobler has just been nominated for the ›Ingeborg Bachmann Prize‹. She will read as one of 14 select authors from Austria, Germany and Switzerland in Klagenfurt during the 50th ›Days of German Language Literature‹ (24–28 June 2026).
We have just published Seraina Kobler's climate fiction novel Valley of Swallows, which is featured by ›New Books in German‹.
»Linguistically, the book is even-tempered and coherent. […] This endeavour to write a book about the human’s place in an over-engineered world turned out successful.«
Peer Teuwsen / NZZ am Sonntag, Zurich
